Founded in 2001, the Consumer Health Alliance (CHA) serves to educate consumers and regulators about the benefits of non-insurance discount health programs, promote consumer-friendly business practices, and work with state legislators and regulators to ensure that regulation of the industry protects consumers' right to access affordable healthcare services at discounted rates.
Through its advocacy work at the federal and state levels, CHA brings a voice to the national healthcare discussion that focuses on recognizing and promoting consumer-friendly business practices within the discount healthcare industry. Currently, 34 states have discount health program laws, while 23 of those states require a license or registration for discount health programs.
CHA companies understand the importance and value of adopting standards that establish high levels of consumer protection and program integrity. As a result of our leadership, CHA membership has become the mark of integrity among discount healthcare programs nationwide.
